The new page International Museum Day is now online and offers exciting information about museums and cultural landscapes throughout Austria.
The annual International Museum Day draws attention to the broad spectrum of museum work and the thematic diversity of museums all over the world.
With more than 1.700 members, ICOM Austria, a sub-organization of the International Council of Museums, is the largest organization of museums and museum professionals in Austria and is therefore also a co-organizer of the International Museum Day. This day is intended in particular to strengthen the understanding of the importance of museums for communities, cities and places, and thus also to show the coexistence of people of different origins and cultures.
The 39th International Museum Day is taking place in Austria this year May 22, 2016 takes place and thus offers interesting special events and exciting insights into Austrian museum work.
